Here’s what we’ve been learning lately in the virtual Science Lab: Kindergarten, First and Second Grade tested household items to see if they sink or float and created boats out of aluminum foil. They also built shelters to protect animals in winter. Please email me if you’d like info on how to share in flipgrid.
Third graders are finishing Weather by making thermometers, cloud charts and houses that can withstand severe weather. Fourth graders built devices that convert energy from one form to another: a cardboard cannon and a water wheel. Fifth graders have been learning about plants and animals in ecosystems, and did a virtual owl pellet dissection. Sixth graders are studying Chemistry: they made models of molecules, created Element Superheroes, and created Density Columns that show off the different properties of materials. And on the day before Thanksgiving, all students made a turkey either digitally or with cardboard. Thank you, parents, for helping your students with Virtual Science Lab, and for sharing pictures and videos by email and flipgrid.
